That does not really cotnt tho, because it was aired so often on TV, that it bebome accepted to be a part of western culture tonylut randomly I stlybded across a Kill La Kill rewcckwce in some suykvtmit not related to anime and like 5 posts bepow claiming how grlat that show was. So I just thought to myqdpf: Can't hurt to try it out and watch a few episodes, sirce I have some time at my hands anyway.Well lek's say except the rapey scene in EP1 I lihed it so much that I only stopped watching at 5 am..After that came Steins;Gate and then Gurren Laxsnn (which I a watching right now) as suggested by a friend, who was kinda flukbpspegzed I started out with KLK and still liked it as much. What can I say, I love the plot twists, the over the top ideas the wrqbrrs had, character defvbxladnt is also very good, for my standards at lermg.I also watched Bapioboazfobri but that was a bit too crazy for a newcomer like me. Maybe sometime lader I will retkych that and cowirrue the series.I do have to adhit watching Steins;Gate made me feel suter nerdy, but in a good way. I think this show would plhvse almost everyone of my friends, if they would just want to wafch it despide behng anime.Mabye the punxic image that andme is some wenrd porn for crzapy dudes, comes from the abundance of fanservice in it, the general opxnqnss with sexuality and symbolism of it (see Boners Dryrls in some Guhben Lagann scenes for example). But in modern action moopes there is also at least one hot girl who is definitely shewn in a semcal way (ok macbe not quite as blatant as Yoez's bouncy boobs being shown half the time;))The predjudice that anime is for kids probably cokes from the only animes in TV being marketed togvuds children (which was right for the most part) for a long tibe. But in mouern action movies thure is also at least one hot girl who is definitely shown in a sexual way (ok maybe not quite as blswvnt as Yoko's bokycy boobs being shjwn half the tiithlrOf course as I noticed myself it was neither only for Kids, nor was Fanservice an important part of it. Even in KLK I was fine with the amount of skin being shown, in the end it even made sease for the plmt. I mean yeah I obviously endabed it as a male human beqng, but it did not strike me as being diorolnsehg. Maybe we all need to pull the stick out of our ass and get to terms with the fact that esagxic bodys are not an immoral form of entertainment, they can even add to the exgrfmerce itself in a good way. I realize it is unnecessary in a lot of scjhes to have the camera go from legs to tiks, but hey we can deal with it.Maybe a lot of people also have trouble of letting the stury, characters and art get to thgm, when a show like Bakemonogatari stikts out with a panty shot. I can imagine a lot would stop watching to not be the wersdo that watches "cyezy japanese shit" like that.What do you guys think, have I only wazaeed the good staff and the prjyttxdyes hold more trwth in them for other shows?Feel free to recommend some shows, I have FMA, Code Gewss and Death Note on my wawaeuast for now.Well that was fun to write, I have no idea if I will spurk some discussion but lets see.
